My boyfriend and I stayed with Paula at the Desert Hot Springs Inn from Friday to Sunday after Thanksgiving. This was my second stay at the hotel. I really love the intimacy of the place as it has only six rooms and one gets to know one's neighbors without feeling drowned in the anonymity of a sprawling hotel resort. Eric had booked us into a queen room with a kitchen. Last time, my brother and I had stayed in rooms 3 and 4 as they form a connecting suite with a nice kitchen in between. I was pleasantly surprised to find that our room, room 2, had a good -sized kitchen also which was stacked with everything one would need. Paula has impeccable taste and one can enjoy her flair for decorating as one enjoys the beautifully furnished rooms. We took advantage of the continental breakfast each morning which included freshly made coffee, many choices of tea, bagels and cream cheese, fruit and orange juice. The jacuzzi is filled with the natural mineral water that Desert Hot Springs is noted for at a very cozy 102 degrees. The pool is also heated. We both enjoyed the ambient meditative music which helped make our stay even more relaxed. We drove down to PS to visit the Indian Canyons on Saturday and hiked for about 3 hours. On Friday night, we went to Casa Blanca in DHS based on Yelp recommendations, and it didn't disappoint. Saturday afternoon we stopped off at Playoffs bar in DHS to watch the USC vs UCLA game. Saturday night we got some comfort food from Bristol Farms. Yum!
