Established in 2002.
Healing Waters Resort & Spa has history dating way back! Originally the site was known as Navapachute (Navajo, Apache and Ute) after the three tribes that used the hot springs. The first swimming pool utilizing the Great Pagosa Hot Spring was built by Mrs. Cora Woods on the site in 1938. Mike and Nancy Giordano purchased the "Spa" (It was called the Spa Motel for many years before the name change to Healing Waters Resort & Spa) in March of 1950 and built the first four motel rooms, a bathhouse and dressing rooms for the swimming pool. They then added an additional seven rooms in 1956. Their daughter, Marsha and her husband Bunk added a two-story building with eight more rooms in 1984. The site has long been a destination of choice for locals and tourists alike, many seeking the healing, enjoyment of the 100% mineral water still used in the swimming pool, hot tub and bathhouse. The resort now offers a charming combination of both the past and the present.
