Tony Simmons (right) is the President and Head Brewer of Pagosa Brewing™. Tony is an accomplished brewer and has worked with breweries in Colorado, New Mexico, and California. He won scholarships to professional brewing schools in both the USA and Germany. In addition, Tony is professional beer judge and was invited to judge at the prestigious Great American Beer Festival.
Tony has won a variety of awards including crafting the National Award Winning Poor Richard's Ale. The recipe included corn and molasses, which were very typical colonial ingredients. Tony's recipe has been re-brewed by 100 breweries in 35 states (including Anheuser-Busch!). Tony was flown to Philadelphia to brew the commemorative beer with Philadelphia's local Iron Hill Breweries. Poor Richard's Ale was served at a gala event for Benjamin Franklin's 300th birthday celebration, and enjoyed by senators, congressmen and the elite of Philadelphia society.
